What to Expect

Appointment process and procedures

At Digital Denture Centre we strive to ensure your denture process is as smooth and stress free as possible. Whether you’re getting dentures for the first time or not, it’s normal to feel nervous or anxious about the whole process. However, we are here to walk you through every step and ensure you feel supported along the way.

To help you through this experience as best we can, we have made a guide of what to expect from your appointments.

Appointment 1- Initial consultation – 30-minute appointment
Your first visit will primarily be a consultation with one of our experienced clinicians.
In this appointment your clinician will discuss your specific needs, preferences and desires for your new denture whilst also preforming a thorough intra oral examination. We will give you a quote and a timeline for your dentures to be completed.

Appointment 2 – Primary impressions 30–60-minute appointment

At your first impression appointment, primary impressions will be taken with alginate. This impression is taken so we can design and 3D print a set of custom trays made specifically for you. If applicable, a bite registration may also be taken in this appointment. Lastly, the overall timeline and appointment scheduling will be done in this visit so you have an exact timeline and treatment plan in place.

Appointment 2- Secondary impressions, measurements and evaluations- 60–90-minute appointment

With our advanced impression techniques, we will take secondary impressions to ensure your dentures are as precise as possible. With these advanced techniques you will perform fully functional mouth movements which allows your denture to look, feel and fit as best and naturally as possible. These impressions are the evaluated and passed on to our in-house technicians to digitally design. Please note that in some cases we require further impression appointments.

Appointment 3- Trying in your new denture – 30-minute appointment

Once our technicians have intricately designed your denture, you will come in to test it out for yourself. This appointment allows for you to check the fit, feel and overall appearance of your denture for your final approval. Feel free to bring and family member or friend to this appointment for a second opinion, keeping in mind that once your denture is fabricated it can be difficult to change.

Appointment 4- Denture delivery – 30-minute appointment

Once your dentures are made, it’s time to come in and pick them up. Your clinician will review the fit and guide your through aftercare, maintenance and any other questions you may have. Your denture may take you some time to get used to, please note we can adjust and make minor changes where possible.

Appointment 5- Review appointment – 15-minute appointment
This last appointment is part of an ongoing process and commitment to the care of our patients. In this follow up appointment your clinician will continue to check the fit and fell of your denture and adjust where possible. It is our top priority to ensure the fit and function of your denture is in order, as a result we never charge you a fee for these review appointments. Following this, we recommend a yearly recall visit again at no charge.
